Nate Bargatze is expanding beyond stand-up with a new film and television company aimed at stories for older audiences. The comedian announced No Pictures on August 24, 2026, positioning the label alongside his family-friendly Nateland Entertainment banner.
What is No Pictures?
According to Deadline’s report, No Pictures will develop and produce film and television projects in edgier genres. The new label is designed to explore material that does not necessarily fit Nateland’s established family-friendly identity.
The name comes from a phrase Bargatze’s daughter Harper used when she was younger: “No pictures, please.” That personal reference gives the company a playful name while making its purpose clear. No Pictures is intended to create a separate home for projects with a more mature tone, rather than changing the kind of comedy associated with Bargatze’s live work.
Lawrence Grey joins as chief content officer
Lawrence Grey will lead both No Pictures and Nateland Entertainment as chief content officer. Grey has worked across studio leadership and independent production. His credits include Thank You for Smoking, Sideways, Juno, Drag Me to Hell, Lights Out, The Laundromat, Yes Day, Pain Hustlers and Family Switch.
Deadline reported that Grey began at Scott Rudin Productions before moving to Fox Searchlight Pictures and later Universal. He subsequently built Grey Matter Productions, giving him experience across comedy, drama, family entertainment and genre projects. That range is relevant to No Pictures because the label has not been limited to one announced format or genre.
“Lawrence has developed some of the biggest movies in the world,” Bargatze told Deadline, describing Grey’s arrival as a major addition to the company. Grey said he was inspired by the way Bargatze has built a brand across platforms and live experiences.
Why the move matters for Nateland
Nateland already gives Bargatze a production base for projects connected to his clean-comedy audience. No Pictures creates a second lane. The two-label structure could let the business pursue broader entertainment opportunities without confusing the expectations around Nateland’s family-friendly work.
The timing also follows a period of expansion for Bargatze. Deadline noted that his stand-up tour set a Guinness World Record for the most tickets sold on a comedy tour. His business is now moving from performance into a wider development and production model.
Projects connected to Lawrence Grey
Grey’s current and upcoming work includes The Man with the Bag, a Christmas action comedy starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Alan Ritchson, which is scheduled for Prime Video on December 2. His slate also includes Doug Liman’s Bitcoin, a Lights Out sequel, the thriller Method, the Netflix adaptation Miss Nelson Goes Missing!, and a Bruce Lee biopic from Ang Lee.
Nateland’s existing slate includes Fantasy Camp, a comedy about friends who travel to Dwyane Wade’s fantasy basketball camp. The project was sold to Amazon MGM and is being produced with Scott Stuber, Nick Nesbitt, 2.0 and 59th & Prairie, according to Deadline.
What viewers should watch next
No Pictures does not yet have a full release schedule or a detailed list of projects announced under the new name. For now, the important development is the structure: Bargatze’s company can maintain its established audience while Grey helps develop projects for older viewers.
That makes No Pictures a business and creative expansion, not a rebrand of Bargatze’s comedy. Fans following the broader entertainment landscape can also read BaeTalk’s coverage of NBC’s all-civilian The Traitors: New Blood and the latest Romy & Michele sequel update while waiting for No Pictures to reveal its first projects.
